Takedown / Copyright Policy

Effective: April 27, 2026

CarveMap is read-only for end users; we do not host user-generated posts. Takedowns therefore cover three categories:

1. Copyright (DMCA / EU Copyright Directive equivalent).
2. Sanctioned and terrorist-designated content.
3. Government and military takedowns from democratic states.

1. Copyright takedowns

Pulses on CarveMap link to the original publisher. CarveMap does not host the underlying source content. If you are the rights holder of source material that is being linked to without authorisation, send a written notice to [email protected] with:

1. Your physical or electronic signature.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work.
3. The CarveMap URL (event id) where the link appears.
4. Your contact information (address, phone, email).
5. A statement of good-faith belief that the use is unauthorised.
6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act on their behalf.

Confirmed valid notices result in removal of the link from CarveMap. We do not have the ability to remove the source content itself : that lives on the publisher's own site.

2. Sanctioned and terrorist-designated content

We do not knowingly link to material from:

• Entities on the OFAC SDN list, EU consolidated financial-sanctions list, UK HM Treasury sanctions list, or equivalent national sanctions lists.
• Organisations designated as Foreign Terrorist Organisations (FTO) or Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGT).
• Official state media from sanctioned governments.

Report misses to [email protected] with the pulse URL and the specific designation. Confirmed matches are removed.

Neutral, factual reporting that mentions a sanctioned entity (for example, a wire-service article about an OFAC designation) is not itself sanctioned content and is generally retained.

3. Government and military takedowns

We comply with takedown requests from democratic governments and the militaries of democratic states when those requests relate to operational safety, sanctioned-content removal, or otherwise meet standard lawfulness tests under applicable law. Submit through [email protected]; we keep an internal audit trail of removed items and the legal basis.

False claims

Filing a knowingly false takedown notice may result in liability for damages, costs, and legal fees, and may result in your account being terminated.
