Terms of Service
Effective: April 27, 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using CarveMap (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. What the Service is
CarveMap is a live geolocated intelligence feed. We aggregate publicly available information from the open web and present it on a map and in a JSON API. The Service is read-only for end users; CarveMap does not host user-generated posts. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.”
3. Operator and jurisdiction
CarveMap is operated by the company registered as such with the applicable authority. Personal data is processed under GDPR. For data protection enquiries, see the Privacy Policy.
4. Accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to create an account. You are responsible for your account, your credentials, and all activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Paid engagements
CarveMap operates on bespoke client engagements rather than self-serve subscriptions. Pricing, scope, and SLAs are agreed in writing with each client. Contact [email protected] for questions about an existing engagement, or request a demo to discuss a new one.
6. Source content and links
Pulses on CarveMap link to the original publisher of each item where a link is available. CarveMap does not host the underlying source content; the link target is owned by its publisher. Pro subscribers receive direct source URLs; the free tier sees a subscribe-to-view affordance instead.
7. Editorial neutrality
CarveMap is editorially neutral on every conflict it covers. Placement of a pulse on the map is not endorsement, criticism, or framing. Read-models are derived mechanically from publicly-available information.
8. Open-source intelligence only
Every pulse on CarveMap is derived from publicly available sources. We do not host, request, ingest, or distribute classified material, leaked non-public intelligence, state secrets, or operational military information. Material reported as sourced from non-public channels will be removed.
9. Sanctioned and terrorist-designated sources
We do not knowingly link to material originating from sanctioned entities (OFAC SDN, EU and UK sanctions lists), designated Foreign Terrorist Organisations, or state-affiliated media operated by sanctioned governments. See the legal notice for the current exclusion list. To report a missed item, see the takedown policy.
10. Government and military takedowns
We comply with takedown requests from democratic governments and the militaries of democratic states when those requests relate to operational safety, sanctioned-content removal, or otherwise meet standard lawfulness tests under applicable law. Requests should come through [email protected].
11. Prohibited use
You agree not to use the Service to: (a) circumvent rate limits, access tiers, or any technical access controls; (b) resell or redistribute the API output beyond the licensed scope; (c) scrape or access the Service by automated means except as permitted by our robots.txt or your API agreement; (d) use the Service in violation of applicable export controls or sanctions; (e) do anything prohibited by our Acceptable Use Policy.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided without warranties of any kind. CarveMap does not guarantee the accuracy of source content, geolocation coordinates, or third-party links. Use information from the Service at your own risk, especially in safety-critical situations.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, CarveMap and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service. Aggregate liability is limited to the greater of €50 or the amount you paid CarveMap in the 12 months preceding the claim.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced on the Service. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of the place of registration of the operating company. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction.
