Authorities in Ukraine's Odesa region have detained a 46-year-old man suspected of plotting a terrorist attack on behalf of Russia, according to the Odesa Regional Prosecutor's Office. The suspect allegedly contacted a Russian intelligence representative in August and was tasked with preparing an explosion at locations where Ukrainian defense forces are stationed or where large groups of people gather.

The suspect reportedly manufactured an improvised explosive device and stored it at his home. Law enforcement officers prevented the completion of the crime.
