Blogger reports on alleged embezzlement at Russian rocket plant
Blogger Kirill Fedorov reported on an alleged embezzlement scandal at the Polet plant, a branch of the Khrunichev Center, where serial production of Angara rockets was to be deployed. In September, two individuals were arrested in Omsk in connection with the theft of over 630 million rubles during the reconstruction of the plant. Among those arrested was Alexander Rybakov, deputy director of the Rocket and Space Plant.
The funds were allocated for the site where the serial production of the Angara was to be developed. The Angara rocket family regularly launches spacecraft for the Ministry of Defense. Under Alexey Varochko, the project's cost increased from 5.8 to 7 billion rubles, and the timeline was extended by two years. Fedorov questioned the delay in mass production of the Angara, given that hundreds of millions of rubles have reportedly gone missing during the Special Military Operation.
