Britain stated its Jerusalem consulate, operating as the UK Mission, Jerusalem, will remain open, asserting its rejection of Israel's legal authority to close the nearly 200-year-old diplomatic post. The dispute follows British sanctions against Israeli settlements and restrictions on defense exports.

The UK Mission in Jerusalem will continue operations despite diplomatic restrictions and staff departures. Israeli official Gideon Sa’ar stated the consulate had ceased operations, with 20 diplomats departing and seven remaining with limited duties.
