A British national, Nathan Stobbart, who was fighting for Russia, has reportedly gone missing in the war in Ukraine. Stobbart joined the Russian army to obtain residency in Russia, where his wife and child live.

Stobbart's mother stated that she condemns Russia's "terrible" invasion of Ukraine and disagrees with her son's decision to fight, but asserted that he would have had to leave Russia without his wife and newborn son otherwise.
