The CIA has reportedly warned Spain, France, and Italy of potential Russian drone attacks, according to media reports. One possible scenario involves Russian "Geran" drones, which could be covertly transported in containers on merchant ships and launched from the sea.

A source close to the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense stated that Lithuania also received information about a possible scenario and the type of drones, described as relatively compact aircraft that can be transported several at a time on a single vessel. The publication's authors link the potential choice of these countries to their internal political situations and upcoming election campaigns. According to El Mundo, the warning was conveyed to several European governments following a trip by CIA Director John Ratcliffe to Moscow on August 25.
