Drones reportedly strike Sberbank data center and metallurgical plant in Balakovo, Russia;
Drones reportedly attacked Sberbank's data center and a metallurgical plant in Balakovo, Saratov Oblast, Russia, damaging a residential building and killing one person. Governor Roman Busargin stated that one person was killed and several homes were damaged in Balakovo, adding that all city infrastructure was operating normally.
According to Astra, one of the damaged residential buildings is located three kilometers from the Balakovo Thermal Power Plant, the city's main heat source. Ukrainian monitoring channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+ reported that the targets were Sberbank's data processing center and the "MZ Balakovo" metallurgical plant. Both facilities are in an industrial zone where NASA FIRMS data indicated several fire outbreaks. An OSINT analyst from Astra also confirmed the attack on Sberbank's data center, which is still under construction and slated for completion by 2030, with its first phase already launched.
