Estonia bans transit of Russian and Belarusian grain, says FM Tsahkna

Thursday, October 1, 2026 at 08:16 AM

Estonia has banned the transit of Russian and Belarusian grain through its territory, according to Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, as reported by Reuters. Tsahkna stated that Russia cannot wage an aggressive war and expect Estonia to help it maintain trade flows or finance its aggression.

Earlier reports indicated that Russian companies were repurposing terminals for fertilizers, coal, and other cargo in Baltic and Arctic ports to handle grain shipments, following disruptions to Black Sea supplies caused by Ukrainian drone strikes.
