A Financial Times report states that frequent aerial attacks have threatened Ukraine's logistics and steel industry. In late August and early September, shopping centers, warehouses, and large distribution centers were hit, destroying approximately 2.1 million square meters of Ukraine's roughly 5 million square meters of modern warehouse space. In early September, Russian ballistic missiles disabled three of Ukraine's largest remaining steel plants, owned by Metinvest and ArcelorMittal, which together accounted for about 90% of the country's steel production.

The three affected steel plants, two belonging to Metinvest and one to ArcelorMittal, have halted operations. These facilities collectively represented about 90% of Ukraine's total steel production.
