A Telegram channel reported that Ukraine's steel industry has been crippled by Russian strikes, according to the Financial Times. The newspaper cited industry representatives stating that ballistic attacks disabled three of the country's largest production facilities in the Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, which together accounted for 90% of steel output.

The Ministry of Defense previously reported the destruction of an innovative electric smelting complex at the Interpipe Steel metallurgical plant in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine's largest producer of metal products for military purposes. PJSC Zaporizhstal, a supplier of sheet metal for protective structures and armor for military equipment, as well as plates for body armor, was also hit by Russian armed forces.
