First tanker with Russian diesel reportedly heads to New York

Friday, October 23, 2026 at 09:31 AM

A Telegram channel reported that the first tanker carrying Russian diesel fuel has departed for New York. The vessel reportedly took on approximately 35,700 tons of diesel at the Baltic port of Primorsk and is expected to arrive in the US on November 7.

The tanker, Agioi Fanendes, sails under the flag of Malta and has reportedly visited Russian ports at least 15 times since 2022. Journalists found that the tanker is managed by the Greek company Eastern Mediterranean Maritime, owned by Greek billionaire Thanassis Martinos. Earlier in October, it was reported that the presidents of the US and Russia had agreed on the supply of Russian diesel fuel to the American and global markets.
