Five Ukrainian soldiers were killed in Kharkiv Oblast on October 13 when an unknown assailant opened fire on them in a residential building, according to the prosecutor's office. Investigators are examining several theories, including the possibility that the attacker is linked to a Russian sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG).

Law enforcement is working to identify and locate the shooter. A pre-trial investigation has been launched.
