The co-pilot of a Flydubai flight stated during interrogation that he planned to direct the hijacked aircraft into the terminal of Ben-Gurion Airport, according to Israel's Channel 12.
The co-pilot intended to initiate a normal landing in Israel before redirecting the plane into the terminal at the last moment, making interception impossible.
