Konstantin Polezhaev, former deputy governor of Belgorod Oblast and mayor of Belgorod, has reportedly died in the special military operation (SVO). The publication "Fonar" reported this, citing his close relatives.

Previously, a court sentenced Polezhaev to five years in prison for accepting bribes totaling 18 million rubles. The former official then went to the SVO, and the appellate court suspended the case.
