Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 08:46 AM
Ludmila Guseinova, a civilian captive from Novoazovsk, continues to advocate for the release of women still held in Russian prisons after being freed in a prisoner exchange on October 17, 2022. Guseinova, who was held for over three years, now leads the NGO 'Numo, Sestry!' ('Come on, Sisters!'), which unites over 70 women who are former civilian captives or survivors of occupation.
Guseinova stated that while she has been released, she still feels psychologically captive until all Ukrainian women are freed. Her organization works towards the return of those remaining in Russian captivity.
