Dudin previously headed a department in the Internal Policy Directorate of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation, managing Telegram channels and regional politics in the Samara region. His influence reportedly extended to local law enforcement and business appointments. Following the appointment of Vyacheslav Fedorishchev as acting governor, Dudin's position became precarious, leading to his removal from the Presidential Administration and subsequent investigation.
