Mikhailo Zvynchuk has been under EU sanctions since 2023 as part of Putin's special group for the war in Ukraine, while Valeria Zvynchuk is on the UK's sanctions list. Western analysts have noted 'Ribar's' attempts to expand its influence beyond Russia, operating over 250 channels in 28 languages and planning to open media schools in Serbia, Bosnia, and Herzegovina.
