Russia's FSB reported detaining a Russian national in Kabardino-Balkaria for allegedly plotting to sabotage a gas pipeline on behalf of Ukrainian special services. The FSB stated that the individual, a native of Ukraine's Chernihiv region, contacted an SBU representative in Ukraine in 2024 and entered Russia in 2025 for the alleged sabotage.

The suspect was apprehended while retrieving a homemade explosive device from a hidden cache, according to the FSB.
