Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Jasem al-Budaiwi told Al Arabiya that the Houthis' attacks on Saudi Arabia reflect the militia's "persistence in criminality." Al-Budaiwi described the attacks as "terrorist, barbaric acts."

The Houthis have previously targeted Saudi Arabia with drone and missile attacks, which the group claims are in response to the Saudi-led coalition's intervention in Yemen.
