Hamas claims 74,000 Palestinians killed in three years, vows to continue resistance
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas issued a statement on the third anniversary of 'Storm Al-Aqsa,' claiming that October 7, 2023, marked a significant milestone in the Palestinian struggle. Hamas asserted that the resistance is a legitimate right until the occupation ends and Palestinian lands are liberated. The statement highlighted the resilience and sacrifices of Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and Al-Quds.
The statement further claimed that over three years, more than 74,000 Palestinians were killed and over 175,000 wounded, with tens of thousands detained and thousands missing. Hamas also alleged that the 'Zionist regime' continues to strike and restrict access to resources, causing approximately 1,500 Palestinian deaths and over 5,000 injuries since a ceasefire agreement took effect. The movement called for international boycotts and isolation of Israel, and urged the US and mediators to ensure Israel fulfills its obligations.
