Iran Attacks Paralyze UKMTO Maritime Reporting, Sources Say

Friday, October 16, 2026 at 10:45 PM

A Telegram channel reported that numerous attacks by Iran on vessels violating maritime regulations have effectively paralyzed the work of UKMTO, the UK's Maritime Trade Operations agency. The agency has acknowledged it can no longer report the actual number of attacks on ships, as most attacked vessels are refusing to report incidents out of fear.

The UKMTO, a British maritime trade coordination service, stated that it can no longer provide accurate reporting on attacks against shipping due to vessels' fear of reprisal.
