Soldiers stationed at Port Shuaiba in Kuwait, including survivors of a March 1 Iranian attack, stated that U.S. commanders were aware of the site's inadequate drone defenses but still deployed troops there prior to Iran's strikes. An Iranian drone reportedly struck the operations center on March 1.

The report suggests that U.S. commanders were aware of the insufficient drone defenses at Port Shuaiba before moving troops to the location.
