Iraqi MP Nour Adel stated that the United States assassinated the leader and founder of the Hashed Al-Shaabi on Iraqi soil, killing dozens of his men. She added that members of the Hashed Al-Shaabi are now being arrested for displaying photos of their leaders and slogans, under the pretext of avoiding US sanctions.

The MP's statement criticizes the US for the alleged assassination and subsequent arrests, framing them as a violation of Iraqi sovereignty and a suppression of remembrance for fallen leaders.
