Italy has reportedly opened an investigation into Israeli officials Ben-Gvir and Katz concerning the "Sumud" flotilla incident. The investigation focuses on the treatment of participants from two "Sumud" flotillas who were detained in Israel.

Suspicions in the investigation include torture, abduction, causing injury, and causing damage. The prosecution's statement alleged evidence of beatings, death threats, denial of food and medical treatment, sleep deprivation, and obstruction of legal access.
