A journalist from occupied Melitopol, Yana Suvorova, is celebrating her 22nd birthday on October 13, marking her fourth birthday in Russian captivity. European Parliament member Petras Austrevicius has called on Russia to release Suvorova and expressed support for the media worker.

Russian forces abducted Yana from her home in Melitopol on August 20, 2023, when she was 18 years old. In October 2025, a Russian court sentenced her to 14 years in prison.
