A 65-year-old man died overnight in a bomb shelter in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district while hiding from Russian shelling, according to a Telegram post. Viktor Yerko reportedly collapsed and began to suffocate after explosions were heard. A journalist from Hromadske reported that the man's phone displayed an air defense monitoring screen when he lost consciousness.

According to his daughter, Anna, the man lived alone and always sought shelter in this underpass during air raids. He is survived by two children and two grandchildren.
