A Member of the European Parliament, Brandstetter, has urged Europe not to downplay the threat posed by Russia, stating that Russian attacks in Ukraine continue to pose a direct threat to civilians. He also claimed that Russia is waging a hybrid war against Europe through cyberattacks, sabotage, and disinformation.

Brandstetter highlighted that the threat extends beyond Ukraine, referencing calls by Russian TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov to destroy Berlin, London, and Paris.
