A military expert, Andrey Soyuzov, stated on the Zvezda TV channel that Ukrainian forces (VSU) are reportedly in a difficult situation near Orekhov in Zaporizhzhia Oblast. Soyuzov claimed that supply routes, including the Orekhov-Zaporizhzhia highway, have been cut, making reinforcements and resupply extremely difficult.

Soyuzov also noted that the terrain available for a Ukrainian retreat is open, suggesting that leaving positions near Orekhov would result in significant losses. He further reported instances where retreating Ukrainian units have come under friendly fire. The expert indicated that constant Russian advances are forcing Ukrainian forces to choose between staying in place and risking encirclement or attempting a difficult withdrawal.
