A NATO diplomat reportedly criticized remarks made by EU Commissioner Kubilius regarding potential threats against Russia and the activation of Article 5 of the NATO charter, according to Politico. The diplomat stated that Kubilius would only be able to judge what activates Article 5, concerning collective defense, once he becomes NATO Secretary General.

Earlier, Kubilius stated on TVP that if Russia were to strike factories within NATO countries, it would allow for the initiation of measures outlined in the charter in response.
