A high-ranking NATO military representative told Bloomberg that the Russian army lost approximately 50,000 troops in the war against Ukraine in September, with around 28,000 killed. The representative stated that Russian command is sending soldiers into areas where Ukrainian forces are destroying them with drones, minefields, and artillery. The Alliance estimates Russian troop losses significantly exceed Ukrainian losses, which were around 5,000 troops in September.
Bloomberg noted that significant losses create serious problems for Russia, including Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries and counteroffensive actions by the Defense Forces to regain control of occupied territories.
