NYT: U.S. Analysts Support Saudi Target Selection in Yemen Conflict
Monday, October 5, 2026 at 01:44 PM
More than 200 U.S. intelligence and military analysts are reportedly working within Saudi command centers to assist in selecting targets for Saudi-backed Yemeni forces engaged in conflict with the Houthis. The U.S. is also providing aerial refueling for Saudi defensive patrols.
The report from the NYT also states that former President Trump rejected Saudi requests for direct U.S. strikes against Houthi targets. The U.S. involvement is focused on intelligence analysis and logistical support rather than direct offensive action.
