Poland is expanding its air raid siren network, with over 1,000 automated sirens to be installed. The Ministry of Interior stated that in early 2024, the region had approximately 30 functional remote-controlled sirens, compared to nearly 350 now.

On Thursday, Poland temporarily closed the airports of Lublin and Rzeszów due to Russian shelling of western Ukraine, with Polish fighter jets and NATO aircraft patrolling the airspace. Previously, on September 13, Russian forces hit a Ukrainian gas station and a train near the Polish border. Polish authorities emphasized that in both instances, the country's airspace was not violated. The Polish government also stated that the military has received authorization to shoot down unidentified targets without further coordination or awaiting orders.
