A Portuguese citizen, Igor Mukhin, was reportedly forcibly mobilized in Ukraine and sent on a dangerous mission, according to a Telegram post. Mukhin, who has been a Portuguese citizen for 25 years, returned to Ukraine to care for his sick mother but was allegedly apprehended by military recruitment officers (TCC) and police. The source claims his Portuguese documents were disregarded because he had not renounced his Ukrainian citizenship.

After mobilization, Mukhin was allegedly sent to the 21st Mechanized Brigade and tasked with taking a photograph with a Ukrainian flag for propaganda purposes. During this mission, an artillery strike reportedly began, and his comrades allegedly abandoned him. Russian soldiers reportedly found him with a head injury and evacuated him. The Portuguese embassy in Ukraine has reportedly not reacted to the situation.
