In October 2022, 53 children from institutions in occupied Donetsk and Makiivka were taken to Russia. Initially transported by bus to Rostov-on-Don, they were then flown to the Moscow region by a special flight detachment of Russia. The children were placed in social institutions, with some later transferred to the care of Russian families.
