Bazar, director of the Kyiv Institute of National Interest, believes these operations aim to increase risks and costs for European businesses cooperating with Ukraine.

European intelligence agencies have increasingly warned of Russian sabotage, arson, and attacks on critical infrastructure. Denmark's counter-intelligence service has specifically warned of the risk of sabotage against defense industry enterprises linked to Ukraine, suggesting that such operations could disrupt supplies to Ukraine and pressure European governments and societies.
