Report: Russian soldier reportedly killed in Ukraine after alleged forced contract signing
A 19-year-old resident of Cheboksary, David Fedorov, has reportedly died in the war in Ukraine. His mother, Polina Fedorova, told Astra that her son was allegedly coerced into signing a contract to fight. His remains were reportedly received by a Russian Ministry of Defense reception center in Rostov-on-Don.
Fedorova stated that her son was detained in late August and allegedly threatened with prison or signing a contract. He was reportedly sent to a military unit in Yekaterinburg and then to Donetsk. Initially promised service in drone troops, he was allegedly sent as an assault trooper on the Pokrovskoye direction, where he was last heard from in July and officially listed as missing. His mother noted discrepancies in his signature on the contract compared to his passport, believing he was forced to sign.
