A 40-year-old Ukrainian soldier, Ihor Makaryuk, also known by the call sign Makar, was killed on September 24, 2025, in the village of Honcharivske, Chernihiv Oblast, as a result of a rocket strike, according to Espreso and the Memorial platform. Makaryuk was born in Belarus and lived in Brovary, Kyiv Oblast. He served in the "Pivnich" operational command as a deputy platoon commander.
