Reportedly 12 killed, 309 wounded in Saudi Arabia airport attack

Sunday, October 11, 2026 at 05:11 AM

A strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh reportedly killed 12 people and wounded 309 others. Among the dead were four Saudi citizens and eight foreigners, according to the country's General Authority of Civil Aviation, Al Jazeera reported. Iran-backed Houthis, fighting against Saudi Arabia, had previously declared all aircraft over the kingdom, except those flying over Mecca and Medina, as targets.

During a previous attack on the airport on October 8, at least three people were killed. The Houthis did not claim responsibility for the new strike but announced the airport's closure. Former US President Trump did not rule out the US joining Saudi Arabia's strikes against the Houthis.
