A 36-year-old native of Saint Petersburg, reportedly involved in the killing of five Ukrainian soldiers from the 72nd Mechanized Brigade in Kutuzivka, has been detained, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office and the Security Service of Ukraine (SSU). The detained individual allegedly served in the second battalion of the 1009th Motor Rifle Regiment of the Russian Armed Forces and may have been a Russian saboteur.

The suspect reportedly disguised himself in civilian clothing to avoid detection. In addition to the soldiers, he is also accused of shooting a local fisherman out of fear of being exposed, the prosecutor's office stated. The SSU added that the detainee had a prior criminal conviction in Russia.
