A Russian airstrike on Kharkiv's Slobidskyi district on October 5 killed six people and injured at least 59, according to reports. One bomb struck near a factory that produces panels used to repair buildings damaged by explosions. The head of Kharkiv Oblast police, Petro Tokar, stated that Russia used high-explosive aerial bombs with UMPB-5 modules for the attack.

Fragments from one of the bombs penetrated the factory's workshop where two employees were present, according to Tokar. The factory manufactures panels used for repairing buildings damaged by explosions.
