Russian border schools move to remote learning amid drone attack concerns
Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at 05:25 AM
In border regions of Russia's Bryansk Oblast, 71 schools and seven vocational education institutions will operate remotely until October 9, according to a Telegram post. The decision, which also includes reduced numbers of in-person groups at kindergartens, was implemented in areas including Klimovsky, Pogarsky, and Sevsky districts.
Local authorities in the Novozybkovsky district explicitly cited the threat of drone attacks as the reason for the shift to remote learning. Recent reports from Bryansk Oblast have also mentioned drone attacks and temporary traffic restrictions on certain highways.
