Russian court sentences man to 4.5 years for justifying terrorism
A Russian court has sentenced Andrey Petrovsky, a 55-year-old former security guard from Magadan, to 4 years and 6 months in a strict regime colony for three counts of justifying terrorism. The Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg found Petrovsky guilty of expressing approval for the actions of the Ukrainian army, the explosion on the Crimean Bridge, and attacks on Russian oil refineries.
According to investigators, Petrovsky made these statements between winter and summer 2025 in conversations with inmates at IK-13 in Nizhny Tagil. The dialogues were reportedly recorded. In a separate case in November 2024, the Pacific Fleet Military Court sentenced Petrovsky for inciting violence against state leadership. Petrovsky previously worked for the security company 'Mangust' in Magadan and was described as a diligent and honest employee.
