Russian sabotage and reconnaissance groups (DRGs) have increased their activity on the borders of Ukraine's Chernihiv and Sumy regions, according to Andriy Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (DPSU). Demchenko stated that while daily attempts by these groups are not constant, several instances have been recorded recently in both Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts.
Demchenko explained that the primary objective of these groups is to scout Ukrainian defense formations and, if possible, attack positions held by Ukrainian soldiers. Additionally, attempts to mine the area have been detected.
