Russian drone strike damages dormitory in Odesa Oblast, displacing families

Friday, October 2, 2026 at 06:06 AM

A Russian drone strike hit a dormitory in Odesa Oblast, damaging windows and doors on two floors and displacing approximately 20 families. Military member Yuriy Dragomaz told "Dumskaia" that he and his wife, also a service member, learned they had five days to vacate their room while on leave in Odesa.

Residents were not offered alternative housing. The dormitory is slated for closure, with access restricted. Only valuables are permitted to be removed; furniture and other belongings must be left behind. "No one has provided information on where to go. Go wherever you want," Dragomaz stated. He added that a commission is expected after the New Year, but the duration of the decision-making process remains unknown.
