Russian forces reportedly intercepted eight cruise missiles over the Moscow region in the night before the final day of elections, Zvezdanews reported. The commander of a Pantsir-S1 air defense system, with the call sign Barnaul, described the attack.

The first high-speed object appeared around 4:42 AM, followed by two more targets within a minute. The commander noted that cruise missiles are distinguished from drones by their high speed and low altitude, allowing them to evade terrain.
