Russian forces reportedly struck Sumy with guided aerial bombs on Wednesday afternoon, September 23. The attack targeted residential areas, civilian infrastructure, and non-residential buildings. At least five people were reported injured in strikes across three locations: near a multi-story building, private housing, and a non-residential sector in the city's Zarichnyi district.

The strikes caused damage to vehicles, and a large fire broke out at one of the impact sites. The Sumy City Military Administration reported the casualties.
