A Russian guided aerial bomb killed a 17-year-old girl, Anastasia, and her 59-year-old grandmother, Olena, in Mezhevoi on the night of September 26. Russian forces reportedly struck the southern outskirts of Mezhevoi with two guided aerial bombs, one of which hit a residential building.

Anastasia's mother, Alla, sustained a concussion and injuries to her right arm and shoulder, while her six-year-old son, Ilya, also suffered severe injuries. The wounded were evacuated to a hospital in Shakhtarsk. The family had reportedly evacuated Mezhevoi previously but returned, likely due to financial constraints.
