The Kolpino district court in St. Petersburg found historian Yevgeny Sizenov guilty of discrediting the Russian Armed Forces and fined him 30,000 rubles for publications made between 2022 and 2024, SOTAvision reported. The posts referenced the consequences of combat operations near Mariupol, the death of a Kolpino tank crew member, and a phrase stating "exactly one year since the start of the slaughter."

Sizenov pleaded not guilty, disputing the specialist's conclusions and arguing his publications did not intend to discredit the Armed Forces or those supporting the war. He also claimed the specialist incorrectly assessed the accessibility of his posts, viewing them without authorization. Sizenov cited Article 29 of the Constitution on freedom of thought and speech, stating the specialist consistently chose interpretations that fit the accusation. He has since deleted the analyzed posts, acknowledging their content could be "ambiguously perceived."
