A Russian mathematician and journalist, Semyon Krasotkin, is under investigation for treason after his phone was checked at Domodedovo airport in August 2026, according to "Vot Tak" (listed as a foreign agent in Russia). FSB officers reportedly found that he had left paid "star" reactions under posts by Russian opposition and Ukrainian Telegram channels.

According to a source cited by the publication, the investigation links the treason charges to these payments. Krasotkin's appeal against his arrest was reportedly rejected by the Moscow City Court on October 14. Another source claimed that one of the recipients of the paid reactions was a Ukrainian channel collecting funds for the Ukrainian Armed Forces (VSU).
